OK...must throw up a star because my first time there and on a Mexican holiday. This star forgives the pathetic service that writes what you order down on a note pad, but forgets....not once.....not twice(even with a reminder) and three times and had to be reminded what the blazing heck was ordered the first time. If I had the power to write up this employee after much coaching she would of been suspended for 3 days. And of course no apologies. While I was FINISHING my plate, she grabbed it and I had to tug it back from her telling her I was not finished....wow! Again..they were probably busier than normal...so ....let it slide. Given that...let's talk about the food. I ordered the wet burrito salad. I DID NOT get what I ordered.....I got a regular burrito...there were more things that were wrong, but I have beaten this dead horse enough. The food the food you say??? Was pretty damn good and tasty. Made it tasty by putting the spicy chip salsa over my burrito along with sour cream and....wait....I never got the guacamole that was "being made in the back"....it must of ran to the border as I never got it. In a nutshell (I strongly say NUTSHELL) the food was fantastic....I was at the point of almost getting on the floor with my plate and lick it like a dog. Good food here! Just be patient! woof! down boy...down!

I make the annual trek here each year with local family. I have to agree with the earlier reviews, especially the one about the music. I've had an upset stomach every time I've eaten the Mexican food. To preserve family bliss (and otherwise I'd have to cook something for myself at our rental cottage and eat alone, though that has crossed my mind...), I order off the American menu, and that has been safe. The margaritas are ok, but make sure you order gold tequila.

Only in pinch...Hacienda has been here a long time, but it needs a complete revamping. The food seems institutionalized, out of a package, the decor is old and musty, and the music, although trying nicely, needs a more professionalized approach...or, a more shared stage approach, like a coffeehouse. The owner's son runs the music, dominates the stage with his karaoke machine.

Ack, even the salsa was bad. You could have better salsa out of a jar, honestly. The drinks (margaritas) were like Kool-Aid with some booze in them. We didn't even finish them. Wait staff is trying, but with this food never mind. Stay home and make some grilled cheese and Doritos.

Food is mediocre and prices are outrageous. The "musical entertainment" is close to torture. There are much better choices nearby. I would pass on this place.

The food its ok, on par with taco bell. The house musican is decent at best. There are far greater places in elk rapids for lunch/dinner.

long standing mexican restaurant. food ok but can be a bit heavy and greasy. locals come here for happy hour.
